
Her full name is Rylee Anuheake’alaokalokelani Jenkins, but she is simply known as “Anuhea” (pronounced Ah-New-Hey-Ah).
ANUHEA is a talented singer and songwriter from the island of Maui in Hawaii. She was given the name Anuheake’alaokalokelani by her grandmother. It translates to “cool fragrance of the heavenly rose” and her music is just that; as it is a refreshing blend of acoustic island reggae, soul and hip hop with pop appeal. She is a big deal in the 50th state where she has earn the reputation as Hawaii‘s #1 female act.
Her first album “Anuhea” was released in 2009. With such jams as “Right Love, Wrong Time”, “I Just Want You Around”, and “Big Deal”, the album was a top ten hit on the iTunes Pop charts and Billboard World Charts. Its success helped her to score gigs to share the stage with other hit makers such as Ziggy Marley, The Green, Jake Shimabukuro, Pepper, Bruno Mars, and one of her idols Jack Johnson. In 2010, Anuhea won Most Promising Artist and Contemporary Album of the Year at Hawaii’s prestigious Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. And in 2011, Anuhea performed the halftime show for the NFL Probowl in Hawaii.
Anuhea’s “Higher Than the Clouds” music video was filmed in Maui, where she is from.
On February 14, 2012, Anuhea’s highly anticipated sophomore album “For Love” was digitally released. Fueled by the success of such catchy radio hits “Simple Love Song” and “Higher than the Clouds” it quickly climbed up the iTunes charts and even surpassing Madonna at one point in time.

Anuhea is a charismatic and consummate performer who can captivate any audience whether she backed up by a full or band, on performing acoustic sets with just her guitar and a sultry vocals. Groupbee recently caught up with Anuhea as she performed with Soja on the “Strength to Survive” tour. Anuhea delighted her island music loving fans and garnered drones of new ones as she performed to full capacity crowd at the House of Blues in Hollywood and San Diego on the eve of the physical release of “For Love” CD–released in stores on March 13, 2012.
